William “Bill” Poole

William "Bill" Vann Poole, 85, of Greenville, husband of Lila "Kay" Baxley Poole, went to his heavenly home Saturday, January 21, 2012 in his home.
Born on September 18, 1926 in Salley, SC, he was the son of the late Clarence Townsend and Dovie Vann Poole. Mr. Poole was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he faithfully served in the bus ministry for many years. After his retirement from Atlas Vending, he worked part-time at Fairway Ford.
In addition to the love of his life, his wife of 48 years, he is survived by his four adoring daughters, Kimberly Shepherd, and her husband, Philip, Kristi Loomis, and her husband, Bruce, Kelli Lindberg, and her husband, Eric, and Karmen Poole, and her fiancé, Chad Loflin; six grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Chiloh Poole-Baty, Courtney Loomis, Blythe Loomis, Evan Lindberg, William Shepherd, and Emily Lindberg. He was predeceased by a son, Billy Wayne Poole. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Greenville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, and followed by the Burial at the Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Square, Greenville, SC 29601; or to the Boy Scouts, Troop 767, 218 Kinard Way, Simpsonville, SC 29681. The family will be at the home.
