My sincere condolences to the McPherson family.  I know this is a difficult time and I pray God continues to comfort the family during this time of bereavement.  May the many cherished and loving memories of Alex continue to comfort his family and friends.  A comforting thought to keep in mind is at Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress."  May you all have calming thoughts during this time.

Some years ago a friend of mine sent me a copy of a letter of sympathy on the passing of a mutual friend. His letter contained an old Jewish quote, “May he rest in peace, Hashem gave him a long and fruitful life."Say not in grief 'he is no more' but in thankfulness that he was."

Alex was the Epitome of Character:Integrity:Honesty: Sincerity that followed him all his life.
