Betty Tinsley Huffman, 81, affectionately known as “Mer”, entered into her heavenly home on Sunday, August 4, 2019. She transitioned into her new residence with the same quiet grace with which she lived here on this earth.   

Born in Palm Beach, FL, she was a daughter of the late Willie Tinsley and Edna Simmons Tinsley.

Betty was an active member of Carolina Heights Church of God of Prophecy. She was a very gifted musician who alongside her loving husband of 63 years, William “Bill” Huffman, impacted many lives through their various music ministries.

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by two sisters, Louise Ward, and Estelle Jenkins; four daughters, Karen Cobb (Donnie), Jan Frye (Greg), Shari Huffman, and Melissa Hyatt (Hank); grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Brandi Gatson (Mark), Kent Spencer (Ashley), Tyler Spencer (Jessie), Carson Frye, Nathan Frye (Jeannie), Maya Hyatt, Eliott Hyatt, and Eliza Hyatt; great grandchildren, Charlie, Ava, Kipton, Kenley, and Paisley; and a grand-dog, Bailey.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by a sister, Earlene Merritt.

A memorial service will take place Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Praise Cathedral, with a visitation immediately following.
