Doretha “Dinky” Owens Hunter, 85, widow of James Artis Hunter, Sr., of Greenville, died Monday, December 03, 2018.
Born in Latta, SC, she was a daughter of the late McKeithan and Lera Owens.
Doretha retired from KEMET Electronics after 24 years of service. She was a member of Woodside Church of God.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Hunter Alford (Donnie), and Denise Hunter Bowling (David); a son, James Artis Hunter, Jr. (Michelle); six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Jackson; and a sister, Judy Fricke.
In addition to her parents, and loving husband, Doretha was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Hunter; two great-grandsons, Aiden Hunter Jones and Jared Johns, Spc. US Army; two sisters, Mabel Perritt and Shirley Sheridan; and two brothers, Roy Jackson and Walter Jackson.
The visitation will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Woodside Church of God with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery, West.
