I was sad to hear of the passing of Edna ! She was such a beautiful and wonderful lady and always filled with great spirit and her loving ways. Edna and my Mom Virigina Murphy were very dear friends and so I have known Edna all my life . My sister Georgeann went all through school with her daugher Ellen and because of Edna and Elmer Johnson they drove my sister and Ellen up to Furman University a year before they were out of high school to check out the school where each of them fell in love with school and graduated from college there . During this time they found a neat route to not have to go through Atlanta , Ga . To get up to Furman and Greenville, SC. Which was going on a route through Social Circle , Ga. which I have fond memories of all the beautiful homes we got to see taking my sister back to school up the highway and sometimes with Edna and Elmer too and at times checking out the antique stores along the way. After college I moved to Hendersonville, NC . and at that time Edna was living there and during times I was working at Belk Simpson and could not come home for Thanksgiving she would make certain I was a guest at her house over the holidays and Easter too , which were always great meals, and filled with wonderful company. Edna loved to decorate and her houses and lovely flower gardens where always like out of page of House and Garden Magazine ! She had such a loving soul and such a keen mind and always enjoyed talking to her and our last right before this past Christmas which I shall never forget !
She was for sure a gift from heaven and I am sure the angels in heaven are welcoming Edna with loving arms. R.I.P. Edna on your wonderful long life! My heart and prayers go out to Ellen , Mike, Lauren , and Kathryn , and may time soften the pain when all is left is the beauty of the memories and always the love, Love to all , Jane Lupi
