Edward Everette Hale, 98, widower of Elaine Moore Hale, of Greenville, died Monday, December 3, 2018.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late William Harvey and Emma Mabel Howard Hale.
Ed was a graduate of Parker High School and served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy as a B-25 tail gunner photographer. He worked for Eastman Kodak in Dallas, TX from 1965 until his retirement. Ed was assigned to NASA to work on the Apollo Project. There he taught photography to the astronauts.
He is survived by two daughters, Sibyl Thomas (William) of Greenville and Diana Price (Jack) of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren, Edward Thomas (Angela), David Thomas (Lisa), Adrienne T. McCoy (Jim), and John Clariday (Kim); seven great grandchildren, Andrew Thomas, Caroline Thomas Owens, Abigail Thomas, Zachary and Avery Clariday, and Bryan and Julie McCoy; a great-great grandson, Hudson Owens; and two sisters, Jessie Turner and Mary Ann Jenkins.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, Edward was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
The family acknowledges the loving care and support of the staff at The Cascades.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
