Ena V. Carter Shirley, 100, of Greenville, widow of Charles F. Shirley, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Jonesville, SC, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Maggie White Carter. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Shirley was a self-employed beautician for over 65 years. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church, Greenville Women’s Club and the Hillcrest Garden Club.
Surviving are daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Shirley Hill (Arthur) of Greenville; son, Daniel “Dan” Carter Shirley (Carolyn) of Simpsonville; four grandchildren, Brian H. Sartin, Allison K. Hill, Erica Shirley-Rector, and Robert M. Shirley; and four great-grandchildren, Mia Reece Sartin, Carter Adair Rector, Mattie Edelia Shirley, and Charlotte “Charlie” James Shirley.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Springs of Simpsonville for their loving care during the past five years.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at White Oak Baptist Church. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
