Frances Barnes Long, 92, widow of the late Claude M. Long, died on Monday, December 2, 2019.
Born in Mecklenburg County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B.and Ethel Collier Barnes. She retired from JP Stevens Dunean Plant after 41 years and was a faithful member of Dunean Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Nancy) Long, of Atlanta, Bill Long, of Spartanburg, Joe (Renee) Long, of Cowpens, Jean (Deb) Thomason, of Chesnee, and Donna Rackely, of Seneca; two granddaughters, Leslie Rackley, and Kristen (Brian) Abercrombie; four grandsons, LCDR. David (Emily)Rackley, Matthew (Carrie) Rackley, Nick Long and Zach Long; three great grandchildren, Rowan Rackley, Gaines and Pierce Abercrombie; and siblings, Marion Anderson, of Greenville and Bobby (Cordell) Hunter, of Laurens.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gerald Rackley; sister, Mildred Barnes; and brothers, Junior Barnes, Bill Barnes and Charles Barnes.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Regency Southern Care Hospice, 880 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Suite 1-A, Greenville, SC 29607.
