Alton Frederick “Fred” Copeland, 85, husband of Lillian Copeland, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020.

Born in Greer, he was a son of the late Alton and Dolly Stroud Copeland.

Mr. Copeland served his country as a member of the US Army Reserves, and was a 1956 graduate of Clemson University having earned his bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Upstate Senior Concert Band.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, John Copeland, and Al Copeland, both of Greer; three grandchildren, Phoebe, Jackson, and Kendall; and one brother, Frank Copeland and wife, Peggy, of Pensacola, FL.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville; or to the Alzheimer's Association, at the links below.
