Hobert McCurry

Hobert McCurry, 82, of Simpsonville, husband of Joyce Byers McCurry, died Sunday, September 24, 2017.

Born in Rutherford County, NC, he was a son of the late Clarence Hobert and Annie Mode McCurry. He was the last surviving member of six siblings.

Hobert retired as a Manager with Duke Energy. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he was active in the Senior Adult Sunday School and served on the Finance Committee.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 65 years, include two sons, Norman McCurry and wife Teresa, and Douglas McCurry and wife Mary; and three grandsons, Kevin McCurry, Brian McCurry and wife Victoria, and Micajah McCurry.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 1:45 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast Chapel, with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Graceland East Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to new Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, 509 S. Main Street, Mauldin, SC 29662.
