John William Gore, III “Johne”, 66, of Florence, SC, died Sunday, February 11, 2018.
Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late John William Gore, Jr., and Marion Ginn Gore.
Johne never met a stranger and always had a smile to give. He was a longtime Clemson Tiger fan and enjoyed going to the football games, including the trip to Miami, where they won the 1981 Championship. While residing in Taylors, SC, Johne was a member of White Oak Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing.
As the baby boy of the family, he is survived by three sisters, Judy Fortenberry and her husband, Wallace, of Cataula, GA, Cherie Bragg, of Marietta, GA, and Susan Posey and her husband, Gene, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and seven nephews and nieces, Lee Fortenberry and his wife, Tina, of Gettysburg, PA, Mike Fortenberry and his wife, Lori, of Columbus, GA, Michele Foster and her husband, Marshall, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jeff Fortenberry and his wife, Tonya, of Calera, AL, Andy Posey and his wife, Melanie, of Columbia, SC, Cephus Bragg and his wife, Rochelle, of Rock Hill, SC, and Elyssa Agee and her husband, Mike, of Marietta, GA.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Downtown chapel. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
