John Robert Hawkins of Travelers Rest, husband of Regina Chambers Hawkins, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018.
Born in Alabama, he was the son of Julia Wood Hawkins and the late Robert Morris Hawkins. John was a local musician, drummer, and singer who played with Reflections of Greenville, Sugar Daddy Blues Band, Orpheus and Cross Bow.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Hawkins is survived by two daughters, Brandy Sperry (Shawn) of Taylors, Melanie Waters (Joey) of Travelers Rest; son, Jeremy Hawkins (Sarah) of Woodbridge, VA.; four grandchildren, Cayla, Kinleigh, Jacob and Gabriel; two great grandchildren, Teagan and Peyton.
The visitation will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be private.
