John Robert Jilek, 70, husband of Bonnie Stewart Jilek, passed away at home on Monday, February 12, 2018.

Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Otto Jilek and Irene Havel Jilek.

In addition to his loving wife of 38 years, he is survived by his son, Brian Jilek of IL and his wife, Natasha; and two grandchildren, Kylie and Emma Jilek.

Join us to celebrate the light and life of John.  Two different memorial services will be conducted by an officiant, who will share comments and stories about him.  After that, the officiant will    offer all guests an opportunity to share their own fond memories of our beloved family member and friend.
Both services will start at 10 AM local time on the dates and at the venues listed below:
·        Greenville area--Thursday, March 29, at “Pretty Place” (the Fred W. Symmes Chapel at the YMCA Camp) in Cleveland, SC
·        Chicago area--Saturday, April 21, at Villa Olivia in Bartlett, IL
Evites (online, emailed invitations) will be sent to family and close friends with all of the details.
All his life, John had a passion for leaving the world a better place than he found it.  In that pursuit, he was always actively involved in the community, and was most recently a champion          and advocate for the Roper Mountain Science Center (RMSC).  At RMSC, we have established The John R. Jilek Memorial Fund to extend John’s legacy.
