Reverend Kenneth Davis Baker, 99, husband of Kathleen Schuyler Baker, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at NHC Mauldin. Born in Platt County, NE, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Maude Pollard Baker. Reverend Baker was a retired Assembly of God Minister with over 60 years of service. A graduate of Southwestern University, he was ordained in 1934 and pastored churches in Pennsylvania and Iowa. He traveled as an Evangelist for 30 years. He attended Greenville First Assembly of God. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a stepdaughter, Kay Jones and her husband, Reverend Johnny Jones, of Alabama; a stepson, Rick Gould and his wife, Sherry, of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Lois Brandt of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Doug, Jason, Cynthia and Chris Baker; four great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and eight step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Baker; a son, Dr. Kenneth Dean Baker; a stepson, Dr. James D. Gould; and a brother. Memorials may be made to Missions c/o Greenville First Assembly of God, 1105 Haywood Road, Greenville, SC 29615. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Greenville First Assembly of God. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon in the church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence.
