Dana Henson left a message on March 27, 2020:
I had the honor of being one of Lauren’s nurses. She and I had a very special bond from early on, and I loved her dearly. We spent most of our time watching the marriage of The Royals unfold- as that was her current interest at this time! We had many challenges and many happy times together- I was loved by her and her family as if I were part of the family!!! What an honor to me to have been a part of Lauren’s life!!! She was a funny, loving , and smart girl!! She sometimes tried to trick me into letting her have her way- so , we made a lot of unusual and special compromises - and still was a Win Win for us both during my shifts !!!
Lauren will be forever etched in my heart, and I pray that she knew how much she was loved by everyone who met her!
Blessings and sympathy to her families and friends .

Hi Dennis and your family. I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what you are going through. I think about you telling me about all your trips that you took Lauren to see the Presidents’ homes and what that must have meant to Lauren. I know that you made her 21 years a wonderful life. I am praying for you and your family.

I can't say that I "knew" Lauen....My association with her came through Saturday mornings, in the early years of Mauldin Miracle League. But what I do remember well, was those big, beautiful, searching eyes.  Dennis it must have been wonderful there, on the baseball field, with your daughter.  Moments Im sure you will cherish forever.

.....and always in the stands, ever faithful, ever loyal, always caring, always cheering her, not only around the bases on a baseball diamond, but around the bases of life, till she reaches home, is mom.  Well done, Connie.  If a mother's love is the deepest, then so is her pain. May you take great joy in knowing she is safe at Home.

Please know that our prayers are for all of you.

I remember the happiness and excitement in Lauren’s eyes when I met her for the first time, many years ago. (My mom was her nurse and wanted us girls to meet her “sweet Lauren”.) It’s always bittersweet to send someone on ahead of us. Our lose is their gain. Prayers for Comfort and peace for you all in the days and weeks ahead. With much love and sympathy.
