Mary Martha Corley-McKeown, 81, of Greenville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 15, 2018.
She was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Dorothy Corley and Paul McKeown on December 12, 1936. Growing up in Kirkwood, Missouri, and an only child, Mary was often surrounded by her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins and had many fond memories of them. These early years instilled in her the importance of family.
Mary graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts from Marymount University in Westchester, California in 1958 and married later that year. She was married for 23 years and then raised her younger children as a single working mother. She worked very hard and excelled as an Executive Receptionist at a high-level law firm in Los Angeles until her retirement.
A faithful Roman Catholic, Mary is survived by her three children, Meredith Tising, Paul Esser, and James McKeown as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother who worked hard to provide for her children putting their needs above her own. She will very much be missed.
