Mary Louise Turner, 88, widow of Charles Randolph Turner, of Greer, died Monday, December 10, 2018.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Lester Eugene and Ethel Barton Turner.

Mary was a retired clerk for the Greenville County Council and a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was also a volunteer with AT&T Pioneers.

Mary is survived by a son, Stephen Turner (Linda); a daughter, Mary Beth Dean (Paul); four grandchildren, Randy Turner, Jay Dean, Christi Johnson, and Amy Dean; and five great grandchildren, Baxter, Quinn, Colbie, Rome, and Hollis.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen; three great grandchildren, Luke, Dakota, Asher; two brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Downtown chapel. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 212 Harbin Ave., Greer, SC 29651.

I'd like to extend my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beautiful mother and grandmother. When you happen to run across somebody that has lived such a long and full life as Mary has, it may bring up the question of why man has to die at all. But God gives us his personal promise found in the Bible at Revelation 21:4, where he tells us that very soon he will do away with death and sickness from the Earth forever, and then he will resurrect Mary to perfect life here on Earth, being reunited with family and friends and experiencing life as God meant it to be which has always been God's purpose for mankind and for his Earth.
