Otto Donald Drewello, 79, of Greer, loving husband of Ilona Drewello, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018.
Don was the son of the late Otto and Julia Drewello. He was born and raised in New York, NY, but spent most of his life in Oakland, NJ before retiring to South Carolina. He proudly served in the United States Navy.
Prior to his retirement, he owned Otto’s Bar and Grill in the Bronx, NY and went on to work for Wendy’s International. Don was an avid college football fan, always rooting for the U.S. Naval Academy Midshipman and Clemson Tigers, the alma maters of his sons. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and the comradery surrounding a shared meal. In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by two sons, Christopher Scott (Tricia) and Matthew Scott (Sandra) Drewello; and six grandchildren, Emily, Brian, Lauren, Jordan, Alex and Scott.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast. A Graveside service will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in M.J. Dolly Cooper Cemetery.
