Stephen Gregory Cottingim, 48, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019.

Born in Hattiesburg, MS, he was a son of Anne Warriner Hyde and the late Gary Cottingim.

Steve earned his bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and was a computer programmer. He was an avid reader, enjoyed watching sports, movies, and playing video games. He also had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Heather Hyde, and Ashley Ross (Chris); one brother, Chad Cottingim; his step-father, Don Hyde; step-mother, Debbie Cottingim (Dan Bowling); two nephews, Alex, and Carson Ross; and one niece, Ellis Kate Ross.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 11th from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast followed by the memorial service at 3:00 p.m.  in the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mental Health Association-Greenville, 429 N. Main St. #2, Greenville, SC 29601; or to Clemson University c/o Annual Giving Office, PO Box 1889, Clemson, SC 29633-1889 and designate in memo line on check *Where the Need is Greatest*.
