Elbert Vealon Foster, 89, husband of Betty Foster, of Greenville, died Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
Born in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late Columbus and Myrlie Black Foster.
Mr. Foster served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was a Carpenter Foreman and enjoyed woodworking and bowling.
In addition to his loving wife of 68 years, he is survived by four children, Susan Powell and husband, Mike, of Taylors, Sharon Foster-Derrick and husband, Bruce, of Taylors, Russell Foster and fiancee Katherine, of Spartanburg, and Randy Foster, of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters Dellena Foster Wilson, and Edith Foster Day.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Endel Foster Roberts and Margaret Foster Limbaugh and a brother; Eston Foster.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
