GB “Buddy” White went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 29, 2017.
Born on December 27, 1950, in Greenville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late GB and Elizabeth Thompson White.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim House White, his dearly loved daughter, Jennifer Vie and her husband Florian Vie, and the joys of his life, granddaughters Haylie and Emma. He is also survived by his two aunts, Achsa Rollins of Greenville and G’Nelle Thompson Gilstrap of Pickens, his father-in-law, Elmore House, his special niece, Regina Roberts of Simpsonville, who answered his call for help in a profound way and three sisters-in-law and their spouses, Jan Westermeier (Dale) of Taylors, Cindy Randall (Jim) of Statesboro, Georgia, and Karen Maxwell (Chris) of Reidville, Virginia. Buddy is also survived by many other special nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda White Meaders.
Buddy enjoyed over thirty years in banking and wealth management retiring from SunTrust Bank. He subsequently formed White Wealth Management where he continued to care for hundreds of client’s right up to his passing. He was a nationally ranked and award winning financial advisor, numbered as one of the nation’s leading producers yearly.
He was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Furman University, and North Greenville University School of Business. He was a long time member of Taylors First Baptist Church where he served as Recreation Director for 15 years and as a member of the Security Team for many years.
Buddy served in the United States Air Force (Vietnam-era) and was awarded several medals, including the National Defense, Outstanding Unit, and Presidential Citation.
He was fiercely loyal and protective of all he loved; faith, family, friends and country.
Burial will be prior to the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Taylors First Baptist church at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will follow after the service.
