James "Jim" Gerard Foody, 87, husband of Joan Crowley Foody, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Agnes Kilgallen and James Francis Foody.
Jim graduated with a Accounting degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and was a managing partner at Ernst and Young. Following his retirement, Jim enjoyed working as a consultant with several local companies. He had served as Chairman of the Board at ScanSource, and currently as Chairman Emeritus.
He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Jim loved his family and enjoyed playing golf.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mary Pat Foody Emmerth, of Gastonia, NC; Margery Foody and Jean Foody Hall, of Greenville; and Eileen Foody Little, and husband, Will, of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Paul J. Foody, and wife, Deitra, of Charlotte, NC; Vincent G. Foody, and wife Suzanne; and Daniel P. Foody and Renee Player, of Greenville; one brother, William F. Foody, of Stuart, FL; nine grandchildren, Michael Emmerth and Sarah Emmerth Cimino, Morgan and Luke Foody, Johnathon, Christopher and Matthew Foody, Katherine and Peyton Little.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Lou Donovan Foody, daughter, Ellen K. Foody and brothers, John M. and Kevin L. Foody.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with a Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
