Janet Kundtz Modny, 75, of Simpsonville, loving wife of Wayne Modny, passed away December 18, 2013. Born in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Myron and Irma Peter Kundtz. Janet attended Fenn College and Columbus State University where she received her Real Estate license. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Mrs. Modny was the past President of the Knights of Columbus 10819 Council and Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and needlepoint. In addition to her husband, Wayne, she is survived by her daughter, Doreen C. Clemens Dennis of Imperial, PA; four sons, Wayne R. Modny Lee of Fort Lauderdale, FL, David M. Modny and Craig L. Modny, both of Greenville, SC, and Douglas J. Modny of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Steven, Michael and Amber Clemens and Matthew Hatfield; and her brother, Larry Peter of Waleka, FL. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, with visitation following in the Social Hall. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
