Norma Shuler

Norma Ruth Brannon Shuler, 57, of 103 Picadilly Street passed from this earth on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of Esther Armstrong Thorstad and the late C.V. Gosnell. Norma was employed by The B.P. Corporation and had many friends that loved her wonderful spirit. Living with a terminal condition, she was grateful for everyday. She was always involved in community service and extended a helping hand with her generous spirit. She loved to help her fellow man. Surviving are a daughter and son, Carla Brannon of Greenville and Timothy Brannon, of the home; her mother and stepfather, Esther and Mike Thorstad; three sisters, Sandra Johnson, of Inman, Kathy Moseley and her husband, Doug of Woodruff, and Debbie Lankford and her husband, Rick of Greenville; a dear friend and companion, Bill Markel; a step-sister, Karen Moser and three step-brothers, Gary, Leroy and Keith Thorstad, all of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her beloved father in 1991. Memorials may be made to the Dr. William R. Deloache Center for Development Services CDS, 29 N. Academy Street, Greenville, SC 29601 or to the Meyers Center for Special Children, 1132 Rutherford Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 10:30 AM at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Graceland East Cemetery. The family is at their respective homes.
