Richard "Dick" John Renner, 74, husband of Margaret Doris Durham Renner, of Greenville, died Thursday, January 4, 2018.
Born in Rochester, NY, he was a son of the late Robert Charles and Irene Haege Renner.
Dick was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church where he served as deacon and was in the Co-Ed 25 Sunday school class. He was chapter leader and newspaper co-editor for The Compassionate Friends and was involved in Kairos Prison Ministry (Tyger River Correctional Institute). Dick was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army, and was a member of Sigma Xi Research Society at University of Georgia.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, John Richard Renner, of Moore; four grandchildren, Taryn Danielle Tabor, Alec James Renner, Ashlyn Leighann Renner, and Jackson Lyle Renner; a great grandson, Jordan Matthew Tabor; and a brother, Charles Robert Renner, Chesterland, OH.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Robert Renner.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
