Growing up, Lolo Alex has always been a bright spot in our lives. He always went out of his way to make people laugh, and he was always happy to lend us his wisdom. He was steadfast in his faith, and he was devoted to providing for his family. Though we would visit them in New Jersey on special occasions when I was still a young child, we were fortunate to have been able to spend my formative years with Lolo Alex and Lola Rory after they relocated to South Carolina. Lolo always looked out for us. When I started driving, Lolo would always remind me to check the tires on my car before I would drive home from their house, which is a habit I've kept to this day. He never missed an opportunity to ask how my work is going and always took an interest in my career. But above all else, Lolo always encouraged us to live life to its fullest. I'm lucky to have had Lolo in my life for these past 29 years. Thank you, Lolo, for being a loving grandfather to Paul, Eric and I, and for being an example for us as a dutiful father and devoted husband. We love you and we'll always remember the time we spent together.

Tatay... that's what I have called you since I joined your family in marriage to your first born son Ariel. That is 35 years filled with many experiences, learning of each one's personalities, similarities and differences, adjusting, accommodating, but always respecting and accepting the uniqueness of every member of this family. You have always been there for all of us--your children and grandchildren. You have been a firm, steadfast, and loving rock for this family. Your sense of humor brightens the day, even in times of difficult and sad circumstances. As a family, we have shared many happy and also challenging times. You have always been kind and always gave sound advice. Thank you for all that you have been to me and this family. Your memory will always linger, never forgotten and always cherished! Love abides, till we see you again. See you in the morning Tay!
