Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" King, 88, went to be with our Lord and past family members Tuesday, March 31, 2020. He was preceded by his sweetheart and loving wife of 57 years, Sybil King.

Born in Anderson County, SC, he was the son of the late Jasper and Nannie Baldwin King.

Mr. King served in the Korean War and was a Retired Divisional Sergeant Major of the United States Army with 31 years of service. He also retired from WFBC/WYFF News 4 with 32 years of service. He was an active member and former deacon of First Baptist Mauldin.

He is survived by his son, Dexter King and wife, Emma; daughter, Kim Watson; grandchildren, Heather Ashmore, Tabitha Stubbs and husband, Josh, and Brad Watson and wife, Megan; step-grandchildren, Scott Banta and wife, Jean, Shelly Jones and husband, Jon, and Will Banta and wife, Rachel; great-grandchildren, Delaney, Hannah, and Russ Ashmore, and Kiley and Noah Stubbs; step-great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Jack Jones, and Hendrick Banta; sisters, Mary Reeves, JoAn Powers, and Ruby Gerisch; and his wife, Margaret King.

A public memorial service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church - Mauldin.
