I looked Mr. Kondra up to send a thank you note for his work with the Junior Achievement program. When I was was in 5th grade at Ellen Woodside Elementary he shared some useful skills as a mentor. I sincerely hope he was happy and knew he made a difference.

I knew Doug mostly in Jr High School Woodrow Wilson Jr high, grades 7-9. He was very popular and a good friend. He won the Best Dressed Award and wore lots of Mo-hare sweaters as his major fashion statement. We also played Babe Ruth League Baseball together, and bowled together at the then famous 50 lane Bowlero bowling alley. He was tall and lanky perfect to play basketball that he did well. It is hard to take loosing such fine people from our early years that formed all of us. RIP school friend.

I attended Jr. High School & Clifton H.S. with Doug! He was probably the nicest guy in school! So kind & always smiling! I can’t think of him without a mohair sweater on! I remember him & my best friend Donna getting best dressed at Woodrow Wilson! Donna was Recuperating from a hospital stay so pictures had to be taken at her home & he asked me to go with him! My condolences to his family. I’m sure you have a lot of good memories! God Bless
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I also knew Doug from 9th grade to graduation. He was always kind and easy to get along with. Neat dresser and hair always perfect and a few girls always with him! I believe the last time I saw him was at our 50th reunion. It's a small world because my son Dan is now living in Simpsonville, working for Airstream and I was just in Greenville for dinner and the Pointsettia Parade this December. I'm sure he will be missed!

We are so saddened to hear the news about Doug. Remember so many good times growing up in Clifton at the Bowlero, Poppys milk shakes, Rutts Hut "dogs", Mario's Pizza, and later our weddings. Lots of great memories and lots of laughs during those early years. Always will remember Doug's great smile and laugh. Doug was a good friend, and will be missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
