Kay,I just finished watching your mom’s memorial service. She definitely was a fun and get up and go lady. She was a proud mom and grandmother. I wish I could’ve been with you this afternoon but unfortunately, we all can’t do what we want to do all the time. I will be with you in spirit at the Poinsett club. I know your mom will be right there and, you will have a joyous time celebrateing her wonderful life and all the joy that she brought to so many people.️.

Wow, Lindsey, I had such a similar experience, being blessed to have Emily as a next door neighbor for five years. My mom & sister were an eight hour drive away. Emily was so much more than a friend. She loved us in so many ways. After we moved, we have managed to stay in touch. She is a "forever friend." I know we will be together again. As I told Kaye recently, Emily modeled to me the kind of mother I wanted to be. Not long after Sam died, I became a single mom. I was able to survive that pain with her help. I saw her twice last year. I was so filled with admiration for her continued zest for life & devotion to her family & friends. She still was able to share her joy for a life well lived.

I got to Speak to Emily briefly about a month ago. She was very sweet, and we got to talk about her times at Clemson, and her days back in college. It was a wonderful conversation.  May her soul rest in peace.

Emily was a dear friend to me while I was her next door neighbor and after I moved a few streets over. She filled a void in my life after I lost my grandmother and her wit, charm and tenacity made her one of a kind and so fun to be around, despite our 45 year age difference. My daughter will always remember her delicious green beans (she would eat an entire container as a 2 year old) and working puzzles with her on the floor. We are thinking of the family during this difficult time - you were her greatest joy - and we are so thankful to have been loved by her.

Kaye,my love ️ and prayers are with you all as you travel this road less traveled.. Playing tennis with your mom was a joyful time for me.She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone she met. I will always remember her as a wonderful friend. I send you a virtual hug During this difficult time, may God continue to send blessings your way.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Em was one of my second Moms from the time I was a mere Toddler on Faris Circle. . She continued to love our family by welcoming my daughter onto Longview Terrace by taking her the magnolia she admired in Emily’s yard. She was truly one of the steel magnolias herself. She will be missed here on Earth but welcomed with tremendous arms in Heaven.
