Joe was one of my all time favorite people to see at the Greenville Country Club. A first class person who I was lucky enough to get to see pretty often. I always enjoyed a chance just to chat with Joe. I will miss him very much. You and your family are in my prayers.

I worked with Joe in the 80,s when he was manager of the local Safeo office. He was a great guy and excellent salesman. We had some good calls and great laughs.

Dear Sue and Jeff,
Sid and I are just sitting outside on our patio with a cool breeze blowing, thinking of you as the funeral is about to start. We would certainly be there if we could. Hoop was a very special person to us for many years. It will be very difficult to realize he’s no longer with us. I’m so glad Brady is getting to be a pall bearer. Thank you for including all the friends’ children in the service. We’ll be praying for you and Jeff in the coming days. Love Sid and Kay
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Sue and Jeff, I am devested to hear of the loss of Joe. I worked as manager of the basketball team and our friendship started there.  A true God fearing southern gentlemen for sure!! He would howl right now if he heard what I just said about him. Me too!! But in it all, one of my best friends and clients ever and I will truly miss our calls and laughs. He had the unique ability  now missing in our society of not taking himself so seriously and making you laugh and always the Christian manner that he tried to present to all he met. He will truly be missed by all and I know especially your family. If I can help in any way let me know and know your are in our thoughts and prayers. I could not come today as I was helping my mom who he loved and oh she loved him. In fact we didn't tell her for fear of upsetting her so. He was the best of the best!! Love you to all!! Sue and Jeff. Words come hard at a time like this. All I can say is “Praise the Lord “ that I had the opportunity to call Billy Joe a friend. We had so many fun times playing golf at Southern Oaks and when we went on our golf trips to the beach. We pray for the peace of the Holy Spirt to fill our hearts at the loss we all feel.
