Justin Todd Smith, 38, of Slater, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Born in Omaha, NE, he was the son of Todd and Ann Smith.
Justin was a man who savored and lived life to its fullest. He worked for TruGreen Lawncare for 16 years and did his job with a smile on his face, giving it his very best day in and day out. A friend to everyone, he was always thinking of others before himself. Justin's profound pride and greatest joy in life were his two sons, Brayden Michael and Ethan Kyle Smith, along with the love of his family. He spent many hours teaching his sons to work on vehicles and was involved with their flag football as a youth team coach. Bonfires, swimming, cutting grass, and exploring new restaurants were some of Justin and his sons favorite things to do; once, entering a hot wings eating challenge with the boys to win a t-shirt, they each started with six wings a piece, and as the story unfolds, Justin ate his share and a few others so all three could go home with the coveted t-shirts. He was a devoted Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, win or lose.
In addition to his parents and two remarkable sons, Justin is survived by his son's mother, Jennifer Smith; his girlfriend, Keriana Meinte; three siblings, Nathan Smith (Angelina), Andrew Smith (Holly), and Heather Joy (Matt); nephews, Maddox, Maverick, and Luke; grandparents, Linda and Chester Smith and Wanda Vespucci; special loved one, Valerie Dickerson; along with several special friends and coworkers.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Vespucci, Jr. and grandmother, Patricia Delores Jones.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 6:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel.
