Pauline Ruby (Watkins) Monroe

November 9, 1929 ~ October 11, 2020 (age 90)


Pauline Ruby Monroe, 90, beloved wife of the late Clarence Monroe, died, Sunday, October 11, 2020.

Born in Stevens County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Ruby Vickery Watkins.

Mrs. Monroe was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church. She loved natured and enjoyed birdwatching.

She is survived by daughter, Gail Loretta Messer (Wayne Campbell) of Greenville; two grandchildren, Charles Green (Sharon), and Christie Hamby (Gene); four great grandchildren, Bella and Cody Burress, and Alexis and Charles Green, Jr.; sister, Doris Martin; and a brother, Billy Ray Watkins.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Silven Watkins; grandson, Scottie Coggins, sister, Betty Nix; brother-in-law's, Leonard Nix and Jack Martin; sister-in-law, Barbara Watkins, and first husband, Roy C. Robertson.

Although no formal Receiving of Friends will be held, friends may pay their respects from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest Chapel. The service will be held Friday, October 16, at 11:00 a.m. at Tanglewood Baptist Church. A private entombment will be held at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family appreciates those in attendance following the CDC recommendations on wearing a mask and social distancing.
