Robert Perry, 87, of Taylors, husband of Jewell Long Perry, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Monday, March 29, 2021.
Born in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late William J. and Ola O'Kelly Perry.
Robert was an ordained preacher of the gospel and deacon in the Southern Baptist Church. He was a member of Roper Mountain Baptist Church of Greenville, SC.
He started his career as a lineman with Duke Power Company in Greenville. He proudly continued to work in electrical heating and air-conditioning until January of this year.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Diane Satterfield (Gary), Tony Perry (Pam), Allyson Myers (Scott), Richard Miller (Pam); grandchildren, Heather Montgomery (Monty), Sammy Auld, Jamie Satterfield, Emilee Crooks (John), Amanda Louise Campbell (Kevin), Kristina Miller; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Hightower of Taylors, and Florence Sloan of Greer. And he is also survived by his beloved pets, his white horse "Blanca Blue' and his white Labrador Retriever "Sallie Louise".
A Public Viewing will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A private Graveside Service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park by the family. Masks are required in all Thomas McAfee Funeral Home locations and attendees are strongly encouraged to follow CDC guidelines on social distancing.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Barry Davis and his staff, as well as the physicians and the staff of the CVICU at Prisma Hospital who cared for our husband, father and grandfather since his heart surgery on February 26th.
