C. Harold Jones, 80, of Greenville, husband of Sandra Lee Bates Jones, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Lester and Mary Merritt Jones. Harold was a graduate of Taylors High School and retired after over 40 years from H.T. Hackney Company. Harold was a lifelong member of Edgewood Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Clemson football, and the Atlanta Braves. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 38 years, are children, Wanda Allen Bobby, Hal Jones Rita, Beth Elgin Billy, Angie Carsten Christopher, and Mitchell Jones; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette Van Gorden; and two brothers, Richard and Fred Jones. He was preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers. The visitation will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680. The family will be at the residence.
