Don was a wonderful guy. I too worked with him at Martin County and later with him as a traffic consultant. So tragic for he and Connie to be taken like this. My deepest sympathy to the family. Fred & Nicki van Vonno

a few years ago I had the pleasure of volunteering with Colleen and Don at Pet Tender Angels. they were not only willing to do everything and anything for the dogs but they did it joyfully with enormous love and smiling all the while! her passion for dogs were extreme ... They didn't just adopt dogs from PTA ...they adopted dogs that might have been a little harder to place....They were always there for Lori our "leader" and she considered them family......They were very very special to everyone who was fortunate enough to meet them....I will never forget them! to their family......you were so very lucky to have had such wonderful souls to love and guide youRIP Sheryl Sidoti

I had the privilege of working with Don thru Chartwell Estates in Greer. He was a delightful and thoughtful person to work with and I am terribly saddened by the sudden death of he and his wife. He talked lovingly about his family and his plans for their retirement and about the trips he took with their grandchildren when they graduated. He was truly a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.

Connie is the only person in my life I have met who shares my birthday, 10 years apart to the day. She was my friend and mentor when I started my career in government 17 years ago. She gave me the opportunity to make a career for myself. Over the years I got to know both her and Don quite well and believe they are 2 of the nicest, most genuine, caring people I have ever come across. When I saw her last, she was so excited to be retiring and realizing her dream of sharing her love of dogs. I will always treasure the times we spent together. It was Connie who turned my love of bargains into a passion and I hope one day I can make her proud and realize my dream of opening a consignment shop. Be in peace, my friends.Lori Montague Carr

I met Don and Connie when they brought Sean to voice lessons, and a few times, Derrick. They were so supportive of their interests in performing. Don loved to talk about favorites in music and Connie was quite the business manager, getting the opportunities for singing in competitions and such. They even invited me to a concert of some Motown groups with the family. I just can't believe this has happened. My sincere condolences to the family. I wish you the happiest memories to comfort you now.

Connie was a graduate of the Manatee High School Class of 72 in Bradenton, Florida. Last fall we had a 60th birthday party weekend that she and Don attended. My husband and I sat and talked with them at the beach breakfast and had a great time sharing stories of our faith, raising our families and funny dog stories. They were very proud of their family and were both special people. We are so sorry for your loss and pray that the family will find comfort and peace knowing they are now enjoying being in the presence of the Lord. Micki and Frank Ryan

Connie did a fabulous job of showing true interest in other people around her. She was 100% genuine. On her last day at Upstate, I told her I didn't want to say goodbye because I couldn't. I knew she would be back to visit, and we would pick up right where we left off. My very deepest sympathy goes to her family.

Connie and Donald were two of the most caring, lovely people I've ever known and truly be missed by those who had the privilege to know them. While at Upstate, Connie, Barbara and I were stuck like glue. We ate lunch together almost everyday --- and she taught us many "shopping skills" over the years.....we certainly did our part to keep the Goodwill stores in business! I will always remember her laugh and the good times we shared. Rest in peace, my friend.Janice D.

To the family of Don and Connie...so many people in many places feel your sadness. Don and Connie were stellar examples to friends and colleagues of how to find the joy in life. Their legacy was their happiness they shared with everyone. Know that we keep you in our thoughts and prayers. - Colleen and Jeff Roland

I am truly grateful that the Lord blessed me by letting me know Connie as a devoted colleague and as a special friend. At USC Upstate she was remarkable and was an "anchor" in the awesome responsibility of managing the University's budget with the highest standard of performance. I will cherish and always remember the wonderful times engaged in University business with her and continue to give thanks, as done many times in person, for all she did for Upstate and what we were able to accomplish together.During those years we shared and traded many personal stories about our families. She showed her love for those special grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments - Derrick's athletic abilities, Sean's theatrical talent and Latosha's success in a Navy uniform as well as so much more. She was also very proud of the fine young adults each had become. In all of this too Connie was again an "anchor" holding family together and guided by her strong Christian values that were reflected daily in her personal as well as professional life. I will miss her as well as so many others in the University of South Carolina community. My wife and I listened the morning after the accident with saddened hearts to a very powerful song "The Anchor Holds" sung by Ray Boltz at:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MSAc5Z2lprk We pray Connie's family will continue to rely on the hold of that anchor. May we all find God's peace.Bob Connelly

Memories are the loveliest things, they live from day to day, they can't be bought, don't get lost and can't be given away. My dear friend Connie, I have lovely memories of you, your lovely smile, sweet spirit, gentleness, kindness and patience. Connie and I shared lovely conversations of dreams, aspirations and family. Connie so loved and was so very proud of her family. I remember how thrilled she was when she was accepted into the dog grooming program at Greenville Technical College her sharing funny stories of her "online dog identification test" for school, grooming kit story - all for Clifford's Castle. Dear Holloman Family:May your treasured memories and the love you all shared, comfort you today and all the days ahead knowing how much you were all loved. Karen T.
