Donald Roy Bowling

September 7, 1941 - March 29, 2009
Donald Roy Bowling, died Sunday, March 29, 2009. Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Paul and Lila Henderson Bowling. Mr. Bowling served in the U.S. National Guard for six years, retired from Modine After-Market and was formerly employed with Fairway Ford as a wrecker driver. He was an active member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Golden Glories. Surviving is his wife of forty-six years, Judy Wyatt Bowling, of the home; a son, Donnie Bowling Beth, of Greenville; two sisters, Olivia Chitwood Arthur of Williamston and Brenda Lesley of Greenville; three brothers, William Bowling, Ronald Bowling Brenda, and Rev. Mike Bowling Charlene, all of Greenville; and two grandsons, Brandon and Nicholas Bowling. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Frances Burgess; and three brothers, Paul Junior Bowling, Bobby Joe Bowling, and Jimmy Bowling. Visitation was Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 1:30 pm at Truth Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Center of the Carolinas, 65 International Drive, Greenville, SC 29615; or Winyah Community Hospice Care, 880 South Pleasantburg, Greenville, SC 29607.
