Emogene Nichols

Emogene Nichols, 78, formerly of Greenville, died June 24, 2010. Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Claude Eugene Porter and Sophie Gaines Connelly Porter. Mrs. Nichols was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca A. Davis, and Vickie Lynn Cannady Larry; her son, Tommy Nichols Debbie; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters. In addition to her husband, Charles, of 53 years, she was predeceased by two grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Visitation will be Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Meyer Center for Special Children, 1132 Rutherford Road, Greenville, SC 29609. The family will be at their respective homes.
