Gaynell Hall Keenan, 89, of 201 Darlington Avenue, widow of Cole Blease Keenan, died Friday, June 03, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late J. Lee and Clara Hamby Hall. Mrs. Keenan was a member of Leawood Baptist Church where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School class. She was a former charter member of Kelly Memorial Baptist Church. At the age of 11, she began to play the piano in church and continued throughout her life. She was the mother and inspiration of the Keenan Family Singers. Surviving are three daughters, Jean Claudette Cauley and her husband John W. of Greenville, Janet K. Walters of Taylors, Dana K. Hall and her husband Robert of Marietta; three sisters, Ruth Sims, Thelma Batson, Azalee Hall all of Greenville; two brothers, Lloyd and Richard Hall both of Greenville; seven grandchildren, JoLynn Lott, Johnny Cauley, Robby Cauley, Karyn Matteson, Kathy Stafford, Travis and Greg Hall; eight great grandchildren and a beloved caretaker, Margaret Twilley. Flowers are appreciated. Those desiring, may make memorials to the Alzheimer?s Association, Upstate SC Chapter, 114 E. Earle Street, Anderson, SC 29621-5602 or Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 04, 2005 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 05, 2005 at 3:00 PM at Leawood Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
