Hattie Ballard, 82, of 13 Pleasant Ridge Avenue, widow of Joseph Samuel Ballard, died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at her residence. Born in Starr, SC, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Baxter and Bessie Fleming Moss. Mrs. Ballard was a homemaker, a loving mother and was a loyal member of Augusta Heights Baptist Church for over 50 years. Surviving are a daughter, Winona "Nonie" Ballard of Greenville; two sons, David Ballard of Mauldin and Alan Ballard of Simpsonville; one granddaughter, Tracy R. Bayne of Mauldin; and one great grandson, Alex Bayne. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 16-A Brozzini Court
Greenville, SC 29615. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 30, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Augusta Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes.
