Henry Staton

October 4, 1939 - November 6, 2010
Henry "Hoss" Staton, 71, of 22 Maria Louisa Ln., Greenville, died Saturday, November 06, 2010, at his residence. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late William Henry and Beulah Hunt Staton. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of American Legion Post No. 3. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for Bi-Lo. Mr. Staton was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Linda Head Staton; two daughters, Kathy "Sissy" Allen and Melanie Spiller; two sons, Timothy and Chad Staton; one sister, Betty Spence; four granddaughters, Shannon Morrison, Kendall, Karmen, and Kandis Spiller; and four great-grandsons, Cameron, Zachary, Chase, and Trey. Mr. Staton was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Fred Staton. The Funeral Service will be held at Mountain Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday at 3:30 pm. Visitation immediately following the service until 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the James F. Daniel, Jr., American Legion Post No. 3, 430 N. Main St., Greenville, SC 29601 or Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St., Greenville, SC 29605. The family will be at the home of granddaughter, Shannon Morrison, 15 Maria Louisa Ln, Greenville, SC 29609.
