Irene Bracken-Bateman

Irene Bracken-Bateman, 91, of Easley, wife of the late Archie T. Bateman, Jr., passed away April 21, 2010. Born in Hayesville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Hesby Bracken and Grace Palmer Bracken. Mrs. Bateman was a homemaker and a member of Parisview Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Cook and her husband Michael of Greenville, and Susan Manley and her husband James of Easley; six grandchildren, Steve David, and Dennis Cook, Dee Ann Satterfield, and Sammy and Thomas Manley; nine great grandchildren, Jenifer Rotton, Lauren Adams, Amelia and Evan Cook, Dylan, Taylor and Riley Cook, Rebecca Cook, and Preston Sloan; five great-great grandchildren, Brodie and Abigail Rotton, Jayden and Jonathan Adams, and Brayden Sloan; and two sisters, Joy Bowen, and Ruth Watts. She was predeceased by two sons, Clyde Harold Bateman, and Terry Joe Bateman; and two brothers, Ralph Bracken, and Clyde Bracken. Visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the chapel of the funeral home, with burial following at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Fork Shoals Road.
