Jeanette Brookshire

Jeanette Gordon Brookshire, 89, of Greenville, widow of Claude J. Brookshire, died, Saturday, November 9, 2013, at her residence. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late David Gordon and Pearl Golden Gordon. Mrs. Brookshire was a homemaker and a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving Christian mother and grandmother. She is survived by three daughters, Angela Green Bob, Jan Parker Rick, and Kathy Hovis, all of Greenville; son, Jim Brookshire, of Greenville; two sisters, Ruth Leopard, of Greer, and Joyce Ford, of Simpsonville; seven grandchildren, David, Kyle, Erin, Leslie, Zach, Chase, and Brooks; and two great grandchildren, Christian and Gavyn. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brookshire was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. The family would like to give a special thank you to Caris, Sherie, and Leslie. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2013, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Mountain Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Mountain Creek Baptist Church Nicaragua Mission Fund, 255 W. Mountain Creek Church Rd, Greenville, SC 29609. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
