John "Bill" William Ellison, 67, of 105 Hollyberry Court, husband of Janie Harris Ellison, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Washington, DC, and grew up in Oxon Hill, MD, he was the son of the late Walter Allocious and Martha Ida Van Noy Ellison. Mr. Ellison was the owner of Advisory Services and was a member of Horizon Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four children, Carrie Ellison Vaughn of Easley, Sarah Ellison Murray of Charlotte, NC, Jonathan Lowe Ellison of Chicago, IL and Rachel Elizabeth Ellison of Taylors; two grandchildren, Wyatt Ellison and Eliza Florence Murray both of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Jo-Ann Ellison Sykes of Florence, SC; and two brothers, E. Lowe Ellison and wife, Shirley, of Villa Hills, KY and Charles Ellison and wife, Sandra, of Evans, GA. Memorials may be made to Miracle Hill Ministries, PO Box 2546, Greenville, SC 29602. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Horizon Presbyterian Church, 1070 E. Butler Rd., Mauldin with visitation following.
