Lothar Frodl

Lothar Frodl, age 63, made his entrance into Heaven on Saturday, January 21, 2006, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Johann and Elisabeth Tschepa Frodl of Eichfeld, Germany. Mr. Frodl immigrated to the United States in 1961 from Germany and became a naturalized American citizen in 1971. Following his service in the US Army, Mr. Frodl was employed by the City of Greenville as an Electrical Inspector. He retired in December 2004, after more than 37 years of service. Since 1972, Mr. Frodl has been an active volunteer firefighter and a former commissioner for the North Greenville Fire District. In addition, he was an active member of the Blue Ridge Amateur Radio Society in Greenville and the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. Surviving are his wife, Becky Haithcock Frodl; a daughter, Angie Miller and husband, Kerry, of Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC; a son, Richard Frodl, and wife, Jennifer of Simpsonville, SC; three grandchildren, Andrew Michael Miller, Kayla Elizabeth Miller and Allison Liesel Frodl; two sisters, Anny Frodl Pollard of Mauldin, Herta Fleischanderl and husband, Leo, of Stugartt, Germany, and a number of nieces and nephews in the US and Germany. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Frodl and a sister, Henrietta Jette Müller, both of Germany. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm, Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to all the doctors and healthcare professionals who cared for Mr. Frodl, and to everyone who kept him in their prayers.
