Louise Carlton, 85, of Greenville, widow of Ben Carlton, Jr., died Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Born in Dacusville, SC, she was a daughter of the late James and Artie Smith. Mrs. Carlton was a member of College Park Worship Center. She was a prayer warrior who shared her faith and touched the lives of everyone she met. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Mobley; a stepson, Dale Carlton Shirley; four grandchildren, Allen Mobley Sharon, Nicole Miller Allan; Dena Mell Dean; Travis Carlton Cynthia; nine great grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertie Mae Worthy and Evelyn Gibson; and five brothers, James, Lawrence, Henry, Milton, and Sam Smith. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 1:15 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery West. Memorials may be made to College Park Worship Center, Building Fund, 8211 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611. The family will be at the home of her daughter.
