Betty Louise Vaughn, 81, of Greenville, widow of E. Lamont Vaughn, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, in Daytona Beach, FL. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late John Ransome and Dee Minnie Thomason Brewer. Mrs. Vaughn was a homemaker and a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church where she served in many capacities, including WMU director. She is survived by her five sons, Ricky Vaughn, and wife, Vicky, Buddy Vaughn, and wife, Joy, of Rogers, AR, David Vaughn, and wife, Rhonda, Roddy King, and wife Maryann, of Daytona Beach, FL, and Dr. Terry King, and wife, Debbie; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 46 years, she was preceded in death by her sister, Conelious Brown, and her six brothers, Tully W., Ernest W., Jay R., Vardry Lee, Luther G. and Ralph P. Brewer. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the God's Way Church Mission Fund, P.O. Box 1012, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
