Margaret Hembree

Margaret Summers Batson Hembree, 94, formerly of New Perry Road in Greenville, widow of Furman V. Hembree, died Saturday, January 26, 2013, at National Health Care of Mauldin. She was the daughter of the late Robert Wesley Summers and Mattie Elizabeth Carr Summers. Mrs. Hembree was a homemaker and a member of Monaghan Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Batson Hogan, and husband, Dave, of Simpsonville; daughter-in-law, Martha Batson, of Greenville; six grandchildren, Jessica B. Stafford, Jeremy Batson, Allyson Norris, Lexie Stempihar, Tee Lollis, and Curtis Hogan; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Thomas Batson, Sr.; son, James Thomas "Tommy" Batson, Jr.; brother, Charles E. Summers; sister, May Lily Summers; step mother, Inez Reid Moman Summers, and step brother, Moe Moman. Visitation will be held Monday, January 28, 2013, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Graceland West Cemetery.
