Melissa Allen, 40, of Charlotte, NC, died Monday, September 20, 2010. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of Willie Mae Allen of Greenville. Ms. Allen was employed with Charlotte Douglas Airport and was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed writing poetry. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Louvinia Robinson Henry, and Victoria Howard James, all of Greenville; an uncle, Tony Dorrah, of Greenville; three nieces, Tameica Jones of Maryland, Angel Jones of Atlanta, GA, and Tyland Allen of Greenville; a nephew, Reginald Johnson, of Greenville; and a great niece, Sasha Allen, of Greenville. She was predeceased by a sister, Earnestine Allen. Visitation will be Friday, September 24, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family is at 8 McMakin Drive, Greenville, SC.
