Mildred Spearman, 85, 21 5th Avenue, widow of Otis Spearman, Sr. died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at her residence. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Zora Ruppe Richerson. Mrs. Spearman was retired from Poe Mill and a member of Hilltop Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Frankie and Sandy Spearman of DeLand, FL., Tommy and Wanda Spearman of Greer; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Faye Spearman of Greenville; a sister, Betty Hearne of Hollywood, FL. and extended family members. She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Spearman and a sister, Joyce Proctor. Memorials may be made to Hilltop Avenue Baptist Church, 111 Hilltop Avenue, Greenville, SC 29609 or to the charity of one's choice. At Mildred's request, a graveside service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

I am sorry that Mrs.Spearman has passed away,but maybe she is with my mother looking down on all of us.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Spearman's passing. My late husband and l both worked with Mr.and Mrs. Spearman for years at Poe Mill. Even tho we both still lived on Poe Mill we all lost touch with each other after the mill shut down in 1977. I am so sorry
