Nelson Berry

Nelson Berry, 71, husband of Nancy Gilbert Berry, died Sunday, February 24, 2013. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late James Thomas and Mary Estelle Kinsey Berry. Mr. Berry was retired from Moore's Quality Snack and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Angela Loomis; a son, John D. Berry; a grandson, Jamin Michael Loomis all of Greenville; and a brother, Robert Berry of Idaho. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Thomas Berry and Charles Berry. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 3931 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611. The family will be at the residence.
